What will influcence the cost of my Philadelphia charter bus?

The exact cost of chartering a bus depends on several factors. This includes but is not limited to, when you plan to travel, the distance you are traveling, chosen amenities on the bus, and the number of passengers on the trip. If you book a Reading charter bus or an Allentown charter bus to bring your group into Philadelphia, you'll have a higher rate than someone who's starting their journey in the city. Longer-distance trips with Pittsburgh bus rentals will inclur higher mileage fees as well.

Philadelphia First-Timers

Recommended Stops: Independence National Historical Park -> Philadelphia Museum of Art -> Franklin Institute Museum of Science

Philadelphia has plenty of noteworthy and historic attractions to experience for first-time travelers, but it’s difficult to condense all the top stops in Philadelphia into one day. If possible, first timers should definitely take a couple of days to explore Philly.

We assisted a high school group of two history classes in their travels to Philadelphia this past spring. The group of 50 students and their 5 chaperones were departing from Jersey City for a day trip to Philadelphia. Their instructors specifically wanted them to explore the history of Philadelphia with the many sites in Independence National Historical Park and The Franklin Institute. Instructors decided to rent a 56-passenger full-sized motorcoach for plenty of space and to keep everyone comfortable during the 2-hour trip. They wanted their bus to include WiFi and power outlets for students to work on assignments and plush, reclining seats for everyone to get some rest on the way back.

The group planned to depart their high school at 8:00 a.m., then spend around two to three hours at the Franklin Institute and around three hours at Independence Park. After factoring in about an hour for a lunch break, our rental representative helped the school group determine they needed to rent a bus for at least 10 hours. The highschool group’s coordinator received a quote of $1,600 for their desired motorcoach.

The Returning Travelers

Recommended Stops: Philadelphia Magic Gardens -> Eastern State Penitentiary -> The Mütter Museum

Groups of travelers who have already visited the standard attractions in Philadelphia may want to explore off the beaten path. A group of friends booked a trip last summer with Philadelphia Charter Bus Company to travel for a 2-day vacation. To avoid the crowded historical attractions, they wanted to experience a few lesser known locations in the city during their travels.

The group rented a compact 18-passenger minibus for their trip around the city. Over the two days, they visited the Philadelphia Magic Gardens for a unique display of local art, the Eastern State Penitentiary for a historic tour, and The Mütter Museum for obscure medical marvels.

For the two-day trip, the group booked a comfortable minibus at a rate of $1,050 a day or $2,100.

The Philly Natives

Recommended Stops: Mural Mile -> Shofuso Japanese House and Garden -> Spruce Street Harbor Park

Natives and frequent travelers to Philadelphia can spend a day hitting attractions that most first-time tourists may not visit. Renting a charter bus around the city is perfect for groups of friends and family who want to spend a special day together without worrying about transportation. Spend a day outdoors by checking out the many arts murals in the heart of Philly. With over 3,000 murals painted around the city, groups can build their own itinerary to see as many as possible with a private charter bus. Engage in a historic and cultural experience at the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden or maybe even enjoy an afternoon at the Spruce Street Harbor Park. Whether you’re a local or not, enjoy Philly to the fullest with Philadelphia Charter Bus Company.

Charter bus rentals start at $1,100 a day for groups who want to have the bus for a full day. Groups who desire to rent the bus for a specified number of hours can expect a rate based on a five hour minimum. At $1,100 for one day, a group of 20 will pay around $55 per passenger.

Calculating Your Travel Cost

When calculating the cost of your charter bus rental, be sure to factor in extra costs that may be associated with transportation. This includes, but is not limited to: highway tolls, tipping your driver to show your appreciation, and booking a hotel for your driver if your trip lasts more than one day.
